Not following Krishna’s advice will lead to confusion and defeat in all endeavors of self-realization. This is explained by Krishna in BG 18.59, “If you do not act according to My direction and do not fight, then you will be falsely directed. By your nature, you will have to be engaged in warfare.” Krishna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. He is the creator of the entire material nature and is the reservoir of all knowledge, and hence, when making decisions, we must listen to Him only. Srila Prabhupada explains that, “No one can ascertain his destiny as the Supreme Lord can; therefore the best course is to take direction from the Supreme Lord and act.” This is important. With our limited senses, and our tendency to get deluded and make mistakes and cheat, we are not the best ones to make decisions. Since Krishna knows what is best for us, we must listen to his instructions. Otherwise, we will constantly be under the modes of material nature and will be falsely directed in life.
