Srimad Bhagavatam Predicts Space Winds

According to SB 5.23.3, there are winds in space. In the translation, it is stated that “Fastened by the Supreme Personality of Godhead to the machine of material nature according to the results of their fruitive acts, they are driven around the polestar by the wind and will continue to be so until the end of creation.” Scientists have also found out recently that there have been some breakthroughs that imply the existence of space winds. They say that there is something called solar wind which is generated from the movement of charged particles or gases from the Sun that travel through the rest of space.

The point is, winds are the reason for the movement of planets in this universe, and this wind is created by the Supreme Personality of Godhead. According to the explanations in BG 9.6, “The movement of the air influences the movements of everything.” Thus the air is the basis of the structural rotation of the planets around the Sun. In the purport of SB 5.23.3, Srila Prabhupada explains why this is important to understand. He says, “This has nothing to do with gravity or any other imaginary laws created by the material scientists.”
