Morale: The confidence, enthusiasm and discipline of a person or a group at a certain point in time.

Hale: (of a person) strong and healthy.

Hearty: (of a person and their behaviour) loudly vigorous and cheerful.

Index of the mind: Comes from the proverb that “the face is the index of the mind.” This phrase is denoting how the mind can be read. It explains how the way to read the mind, or understand what someone is thinking, is by looking at their face.

Moral compass: Used in reference to a person’s ability to judge what is right and wrong and act accordingly.

Rebel: A person who resists authority, control, or convention. A person who rises in opposition to an established government/ ruler.

Bastion: an institution, place, or person strongly defending or upholding particular principles, attitudes, or activities.

Atone: To make amends or reparation.
