Benefit of Krishna Consciousness

The benefit of becoming Krishna conscious is that one becomes safe under all circumstances. Srila Prabhupada says this in the last line of the purport of BG 18.59 where he says, “One should act unhesitatingly to execute the order of the Supreme Personality of Godhead – that will keep one safe under all circumstances.” If Krishna wants to protect you, no one can kill you, but if Krishna wants to kill you, no one can protect you. Our goal must be to follow the instructions of the Supreme Personality of Godhead; in that manner we will be protected by Krishna at all costs. Being protected doesn’t mean that we never get hurt or nothing ever happens to us. Being protected means that Krishna will always guide us in the right way so that we may go back to Godhead. This is explained in the verse BG 1.32-35, “But when one takes the opposite way – namely, when one tries to satisfy the senses of Govinda without desiring to satisfy one’s own senses – then by the grace of Govinda all desires of the living entity are satisfied.” Here Srila Prabhupada is explaining how when the devotee desires to please Krishna only, then automatically Krishna will fulfill the devotee’s desires to become Krishna conscious and the entire point of life has been fulfilled for the devotee.
