The 30 general principles cover everything a human being needs to do in order to earn satisfaction from the Supreme Personality of Godhead. However, when these qualifications are compared to the average student nowadays, surely they will not be fit to follow any. In schools around the world, value education is not prioritized, and many people do not follow basic principles of hygiene. Around 20% of the U.S. showers less than seven times a week. Looking at this, it is clear that value and hygienical education should be prioritized. The education that I am receiving now at school is completely teaching information which helps those in the materialistic path. This can be shown through the behavior of students. A multitude of them swear constantly and show no satisfaction. I have previously asked a student about her routine and she told me that she bathed only three to four times a week. So, compared to someone who follows all the thirty general principles, the average student is practically nothing. To improve these people to spiritual actions, the academic system has to be changed. Everything that is taught should be Vades-based. Knowledge should only be taught so that it can be used to please the Supreme Personality. Students should be taught to chant and hear the holy names of the Lord. There is a saying, there are no bad students, only bad teachers. This means that unless the teachers and administrators really try to produce students who are spiritual and following these principles, then the students will not be following. It will become a ‘self fulfilling prophecy’ which will not be good for the future generations.
